Assata Renay

Assata Renay is a Singer, Songwriter, Actress, Entertainer and Entrepreneur born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She grew up in a musical home with a grandfather who was a blues guitarist and parents who are very successful in the radio industry. Assata's musical interests were highly influenced by old school rhythm & blues that her family introduced her to at a young age. Because of her parent's line of work, she had the chance to experience attending concerts and meeting some of her favorite celebrity influences. Little did she know, this would inspire her to later take the stage and create a lane of her own. In 2019, she made her National television debut on ABC’s hit singing competition show “American Idol". Assata sang her way through 5 rounds including the infamous Hollywood week filmed in California. She finished strong in Hawaii taking home with her the experience of a lifetime along with a title of “American Idol Top 40 Finalist”. In May of 2023 Assata landed a leading role in The Bodyguard Musical put on by The Anthony Bean Theater. Assata plays "Rachel Marron" a character made famous by the late Whitney Houston.
