STONE HORSES

STONE HORSES is a rock band from the Mid-Atlantic area of the US, formed in 2017. STONE HORSES is a band of old souls... guitarist Teddy Merrill knows his rock origins and history. From bluesmen Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters to Jimmy Page, Hendrix, and Slash, Ted cites them all as influences. Singer John Allen draws on everything from the early Blues Pioneers to Chris Robinson and Chris Cornell. "We just want to make music that is timeless", states the singer. "Writing songs about the human condition is what I like to do. Love, hate, struggle and tenacity are themes I want to convey." Originally formed as a stripped down 2-man band, the duo added drummer Jason Heiser, after John felt too confined playing drums and singing. The band has recently added bassist Dylan Howes to fill out the band’s sound and fill it out he DOES! A standout every night on tour but still manages to keep rock solid when he needs to. STONE HORSES’ first single “Reckless Ways”, released on their own Broken World Records, managed to chart on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart as well as BDS and Mediabase, and remained in the Top 40 for 7 weeks. In fact, every single they have released independently has charted on the Active Rock Chart. No small achievement for a fiercely independent band not afraid to not go with the flow of the "Laptop" rock so prevalent these days. No synths or over "Protooled" tracks - just honest 3 chord riff rock for the new century!
