Mark Hoppus, the renowned singer-bassist of the legendary pop-punk band blink-182, is set to embark on a U.S. book tour following the release of his much-anticipated memoir, Fahrenheit-182. The memoir, which is making waves even before its official release, is set to arrive on April 8th. This compelling narrative promises to offer fans a deep and engaging look into Hoppus' tumultuous and vibrant life journey, from his formative years to his ongoing evolution as a musician and public figure.

To celebrate the launch of this memoir, Hoppus will set off on a seven-date book tour, aptly titled “An Evening with Mark Hoppus and All Things Fahrenheit-182.” The tour kicks off on April 9th in Brooklyn, New York, and concludes on April 20th in Los Angeles, making stops in major cities such as Somerville, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago, and El Cajon. Each event promises to offer more than just a conventional book signing. Hoppus will engage audiences with discussions about the memoir, likely interspersed with his characteristic wit and humor, alongside a special guest moderator.

Fahrenheit-182, co-authored by Los Angeles-based journalist Dan Ozzi, offers an in-depth exploration of Hoppus’ life. The memoir chronicles his upbringing in the California desert, marked by challenging moments such as his parents’ bitter divorce. It details his transformative journey through various cultural identities—from dork to goth to skate punk—and highlights his serendipitous meeting with his musical soulmate, Tom DeLonge, which led to the formation of blink-182. Importantly, the memoir does not shy away from the darker aspects of Hoppus’ life, addressing his experiences with anxiety, depression, and his public battle with cancer, infusing the narrative with profound human experiences and resilience.

The tour not only promotes Hoppus' memoir but also gives fans a chance to connect with his story on a personal level. Each ticket purchased for these book tour events includes a copy of Fahrenheit-182, ensuring that attendees have the memoir at hand as they hear Hoppus discuss its themes and stories live.

In the promotional run-up to the book's release, Hoppus has emphasized the appealing breadth of the memoir. He humorously referenced its diverse content in a promotional video, noting its inclusion of everything from punk rock clubs and skateboarding to '90s music and complex emotional battles. This diverse range of topics ensures that the memoir resonates not only with fans of blink-182 but also with a broader audience who appreciate stories of growth, struggle, and triumph.

Beyond the memoir, Hoppus continues to be active within the music sphere. Blink-182 is slated to perform at the “When We Were Young” festival this year, demonstrating Hoppus's enduring influence and connectivity in the contemporary music scene. In addition, he has been involved in various charitable endeavors, including performing at benefit concerts, further solidifying his legacy as a heartfelt contributor to both the arts and society.
