It has been almost 20 years since the punk band has played in North America, but the wait is finally over for Sex Pistols fans. The legendary punk rock band is set to embark on a highly anticipated North American tour in 2025 with Frank Carter stepping in as the frontman. Sex Pistols’ guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook, and bassist Glen Matlock will be joined by Carter, known for his work with Gallows and Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes, as they take the stage in a lineup that promises to deliver an unforgettable concert experience. This marks their first venture on North American soil since their 2003 tour with original frontman Johnny Rotten, now known as John Lydon.

The tour kicks off on September 16 at the iconic Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, Texas, a venue that holds a special place in their career. In 1978, the band played a chaotic and memorable show at the same venue, which has since been remembered in the form of a live album release. Following Dallas, the tour will travel through major cities including Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Toronto before concluding at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on October 16. This extensive tour will cover an exciting setlist, including performances of their one and only studio album Never Mind the Bollocks in its entirety.

Tickets for the tour will be available despite the typical frenzy that accompanies a tour of this magnitude. Pre-sale tickets are scheduled to go on sale from April 2, with the general ticket sales commencing on April 4. Fans are advised to act quickly to secure their place in what promises to be a highly energetic celebration of punk rock, featuring all-time hits in true Pistols style and flair.

Despite the absence of John Lydon, the decision to tour with Frank Carter has been met with enthusiasm. As an influential figure in contemporary punk music, Carter’s involvement brings a fresh yet authentic voice to the tour, described by him as a much-needed energy during these challenging times. This move, however, was not without controversy. Lydon, who has had a troubled relationship with his former bandmates following disputes over the use of their music in a TV series, openly criticized the reunion calling it a “karaoke” effort.

This tour presents a rare opportunity for fans—old and new alike—to witness the raw power and energy that defined the band’s meteoric rise to fame. It’s a celebration not just of punk music, but also of the enduring spirit of rebellion and non-conformity that the genre champions. Attendees can expect a vibrant live experience, blending nostalgia with fresh interpretations that keep the Punk ethos alive and resonant in today’s world. With additional shows slated for announcement, the anticipation only continues to build, reaffirming the band’s lasting impact and their continued relevance in the music industry.
