Alice Cooper shared his excitement about the milestone year in a statement: “We are excited to celebrate our 24th year with another incredible lineup of artists who generously give their time and talent to support the teens at our three Teen Centers. We are grateful to everyone who continues to make ‘Christmas Pudding’ one of the Valley’s favorite holiday traditions, and we look forward to another unforgettable night of music and mayhem.”

Beyond the musical guests, the December 12 program is set to include a performance from Solid Rock’s Dance Company along with an appearance by the winners of this year’s “Proof is in the Pudding” contest, which Cooper has likened to his own version of “American Idol.”

How Christmas Pudding Started

Alice Cooper and his wife, Sheryl Cooper, launched Christmas Pudding in 2001 with the goal of raising enough money to build a dedicated center where local teenagers could pursue music, art and dance in a safe environment. That goal was realized in May 2012 with the opening of the original Solid Rock Teen Center, nicknamed “The Rock.”

Cooper explained the annual event’s approach to recruiting performers in a 2013 interview with the Phoenix New Times: “I’m not a teacher, but I have a great Rolodex. So for ‘Christmas Pudding’, I can go through that Rolodex and call different people and they will show up and do a few songs.”
