Bruce Springsteen has announced a new concert film set to arrive via streaming on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The movie was filmed in Philadelphia during his recent run with the E Street Band on the Land of Hope and Dreams tour earlier this year.

Springsteen has not yet said where fans will be able to watch the film, and no other details about the release have been made public.

Why Bruce Springsteen Launched the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour

Springsteen put the tour together on short notice following a string of national events, most notably the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis in January 2026. Those deaths pushed him to write and record “Streets of Minneapolis,” and the tour itself opened in that same city on March 31 before finishing in Washington, D.C. on May 27.

In a press release promoting the shows, Springsteen framed the tour in explicitly political terms, calling it an “American spring of Rock ‘n’ Rebellion.” He described the dates as being staged “in celebration and in defense of American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream.”

Backlash and Security Concerns During the Tour

Springsteen’s political messaging on the tour drew public criticism from Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain, who called him “an annoying, bitter old man” and suggested he “shut up” and stick to his art instead.

E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt told the Daily Mail that the tour required heightened security because of a rise in death threats connected to its political themes, noting that while some threats are typical for the band, this time they increased noticeably.

Springsteen made a guest appearance with Jon Bon Jovi during a Bon Jovi concert at Madison Square Garden on July 26, 2026, during his time off the road over the summer.

On September 4, 2026, he also released a new entry in his ongoing archival live series, drawn from a July 2, 1988 concert in Stockholm, Sweden recorded during the Tunnel of Love tour. That release joins a previously issued recording from a Stockholm show the following night at the same venue.
