Ed Sheeran and Weezer Added to 2025 Coachella Lineup

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is known for its dynamic and always surprising lineup, and the 2025 Coachella edition is no exception. This year's event, unfolding over two weekends from April 11th to 13th, and April 18th to 20th in Indio, California, has seen some last-minute alterations that have stirred the music community. The festival, usually finalized well in advance, had to adapt quickly to unforeseen changes just before its commencement.

The announcement comes after FKA Twigs was forced to drop out due to issues with her visa. This unexpected development left a gap in the festival's programming, shaking both the organizers and the attendees. FKA Twigs, a revered English songwriter and producer, was scheduled to debut her latest work from the album Eusexua. Fans had eagerly anticipated her performance, which would have taken forefront positions on both Fridays of the weekends. Unfortunately, due to her production team's failure to properly manage visa paperwork, FKA Twigs was unable to travel to the United States and had to cancel her shows.

In response to this setback, Coachella organizers acted swiftly by adding two globally acclaimed artists—Ed Sheeran and Weezer—to the festival lineup. According to the updated schedule, Weezer will take the stage on Saturday of the first weekend, playing their vivacious set at the Mojave Tent, while Ed Sheeran will charm the crowd on the following Saturday of the second weekend. These new additions were designed to fill the void left by FKA Twigs and were welcomed by the fans with enthusiasm.

Beyond the substitution of artists, there were further disruptions when Brazilian superstar Anitta announced her withdrawal due to “unexpected personal reasons.” Anitta's decision to cancel added another layer of complexity as her presence was a significant draw for her global fanbase. Meanwhile, the New Jersey hardcore band Gel was also compelled to back out after the abrupt breakup of the band following internal issues.

The 2025 Coachella lineup is crowned by headliners Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott, who are set to deliver captivating performances across the weekends. These mainstage acts, coupled with the surprise updates, are expected to sustain the festival's enduring reputation for showcasing diverse and highly energetic live music experiences. Additional highlights include performances by Charli XCX, Megan Thee Stallion, and Missy Elliott, contributing to an environment that combines both veteran musicians and pioneering new acts.
