Renowned Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is set to embark on an exhilarating journey with the revival of the Joe Perry Project. This endeavor marks a significant reunion and showcases an impressive lineup of musicians. Besides Perry, the project includes fellow Aerosmith band members Brad Whitford on guitar and Buck Johnson handling the keyboards and vocals. Adding to this stellar ensemble are Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, taking on the role of vocalist, Robert DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots on bass, and Eric Kretz on drums. This star-studded group promises a dynamic and memorable performance as they hit the road for a series of tour dates starting this summer.

Perry expressed his enthusiasm about the ensemble and the upcoming tour in a statement, noting the excitement around the lineup and the opportunity to let their dynamic music speak for itself once more. He recalled that many of these musicians played with him during the debut event for his solo album “Sweetzerland Manifesto” back in January 2018 at The Roxy in L.A., making them familiar collaborators. The Joe Perry Project will incorporate a diverse setlist that includes favorite cuts from the band as well as selections from Stone Temple Pilots, The Black Crowes, and Aerosmith hits and deeper tracks. This broad musical approach ensures fans can expect a lively show reminiscent of a “garage band on steroids,” as Perry described the experience.

The Joe Perry Project tour will hit various venues across North America, starting from August 13 at the Hard Rock Cafe at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, FL, with subsequent performances in cities such as Toronto, Boston, and New York, among others. With the promise of explosive live shows featuring a mix of classic rock, invigorating performances, and rock ‘n' roll camaraderie, this tour is set to sate long-time fans’ appetites for live music and Perry's guitar mastery. For full show details and ticket information, enthusiasts are encouraged to check official sources like Joe Perry's website.

This tour announcement follows Aerosmith's withdrawal from touring due to frontman Steven Tyler's vocal issues, demonstrating that although Aerosmith itself might be on a temporary hiatus, its members remain actively engaged in the music scene through other projects. Tom Hamilton, another Aerosmith member, has also been busy, recently introducing a new musical endeavor called Close Enemies. Meanwhile, Perry and Tyler made a joint appearance at a private charity event for Tyler's Janie Fund, further illustrating their continuous involvement in music-related activities outside of formal tours with Aerosmith.
