Olivia Rodrigo Headlines Daisy Chain Fields Festival With Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morissette and Sarah McLachlan
Olivia Rodrigo headlined the first-ever Daisy Chain Fields festival at Great Park in Irvine, California on August 29, 2026, an all-female-lineup event she put together herself as a modern nod to the 1990s Lilith Fair. During her closing set, she was joined onstage by Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette and Stevie Nicks, and the single-day event generated $20 million for charities supporting women and girls.
- The festival’s proceeds were split across two performance areas, the Marigold and Dandelion stages, with acts including Chappell Roan, Bikini Kill, the Breeders, Garbage, Mitski, Doechii, Santigold, Rachel Chinouriri, Die Spitz, Quiet Light and Eli.
- Every performer at Daisy Chain Fields agreed to play without a fee.
- KATSEYE dropped off the bill just before the festival after member Megan Skiendiel injured her ankle in tour rehearsals; Devon Again stepped in as a replacement act.
- Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs pulled out of her scheduled guest appearance due to a family emergency, opening the door for Alanis Morissette to take her spot.
Stevie Nicks Duets With Olivia Rodrigo on ‘Landslide’
Rodrigo saved her biggest surprise for the end of the night, walking back onstage hand in hand with Stevie Nicks for a rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.” The pair traded verses and blended their voices on the chorus, backed solely by Nicks’ frequent guitarist Waddy Wachtel on acoustic guitar.
Once the song wrapped, Nicks addressed the crowd directly about Rodrigo. “She reminds me of me, when I was her age a hundred years ago. And I’m somewhat awestruck that she could do all this… And she’s done it, with this grace,” Nicks said.
Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette Also Join Rodrigo Onstage
Before Nicks appeared, Rodrigo welcomed Sarah McLachlan, the artist who launched Lilith Fair in 1997, for performances of “Building a Mystery” and “Angel.” Introducing her, Rodrigo told the audience, “Without Lilith Fair there would be no Daisy Chain.”
Rodrigo and McLachlan dedicated “Angel” to Dolly Parton, who died on August 25, 2026 at age 80. McLachlan referred to Parton onstage as “the O.G. matriarch, beautiful goddess” and called her “the biggest philanthropist” in country music.
Alanis Morissette then took the stage with Rodrigo for a performance of “Ironic,” stepping into the guest slot originally set aside for Karen O.
Olivia Rodrigo Gives Live Debut of ‘Serena Joy’
Rodrigo used her Daisy Chain Fields set to perform “Serena Joy” live for the first time. The song, which draws its politically charged themes from The Handmaid’s Tale, had just landed on streaming services that week following an earlier run limited to 500 physical CDs sold exclusively at a record store near the festival grounds.
Daisy Chain Fields Raises $20 Million for Women’s Charities
The festival’s earnings benefited nonprofit groups focused on women’s and girls’ issues, among them the Center for Reproductive Rights, Planned Parenthood and the National Women’s Law Center. Daisy Chain Fields brought in $10 million for those causes on its own, and philanthropist Melinda French Gates matched that sum with an additional $10 million gift through her organization Pivotal, pushing the combined total to $20 million.
