Record Store Day 2025 promises to be a monumental occasion for music enthusiasts and vinyl collectors, with a plethora of exclusive and limited edition releases. Notably, John Lennon, Roger Waters, and David Bowie are among the artists with special vinyl packages set to be released for this iconic event. John Lennon’s final solo concert is being celebrated with the release of a new live EP, “Power To The People – Live At The One To One Concert, New York City, 1972.” This exclusive release is presented in a vibrant 180-gram yellow vinyl edition and features performances from Lennon’s only full-length show post-Beatles, alongside Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono Band with Elephant’s Memory. Three tracks — “Well Well Well,” “Cold Turkey,” and Yoko’s “Don’t Worry Kyoko (Mummy’s Only Looking For A Hand In The Snow)” — are previously unreleased. Additionally, the release is limited to just 5,500 copies worldwide, adding to its unique appeal.

Meanwhile, Roger Waters is set to electrify fans with a special release that ties into his iconic live performances. On the heels of his massive influence on progressive rock through Pink Floyd, Waters' participation in Record Store Day underscores the ongoing demand for high-quality analog recordings of legendary live shows. David Bowie's contribution to Record Store Day includes a remastered edition of a studio recording, infused with tracks that highlight his unparalleled artistic versatility and enduring influence in the music industry. Bowie’s releases continue to resonate with both long-time fans and new listeners who are discovering his work through the resurgence of vinyl.

The Stone Temple Pilots will release “Live in New Haven 1994,” a recording from their concert at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. This release captures the band’s energetic performance shortly after the release of their album “Purple,” including chart-topping hits such as “Vasoline” and “Interstate Love Song.” Limited to 3,500 copies, the album will be pressed on purple vinyl, making it a highly sought-after collector's item. This release not only celebrates the band’s musical legacy but also serves as a testimony to the vibrant alternative rock era of the 90s.

A range of additional releases spans pop, country, and grunge, reflecting the eclectic nature of current musical tastes. Gracie Abrams, Kelsea Ballerini, and Post Malone lead a contemporary wave of offerings. Abrams delivers “Live From Radio City Hall,” while Ballerini celebrates her milestone with a deluxe anniversary edition of her debut album. Post Malone, the 2025 Record Store Day ambassador, pays homage to Nirvana with a unique vinyl that captures his 2020 live-streamed tribute performance.

Taylor Swift, known for her continued involvement with Record Store Day, will offer a special seven-inch release, adding to the roster of artists whose contributions continue to bolster the day’s standing as a cornerstone for music retail. Her release, along with that of artists like The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, and Prince, establishes 2025 as a year to remember for audiophiles and collectors.

Completing the lineup is an intriguing collection of releases from legacy acts such as Black Sabbath, Elton John, and The Rolling Stones, all presenting individually distinct pieces that cater to dedicated fans and collectors alike. With such an impressive variety of exclusive vinyl records from both legendary and contemporary artists, Record Store Day 2025 celebrates the timeless nature of music and the tactile experience of vinyl. These releases not only honor the rich history of each artist but also invigorate community enthusiasm for local record stores, fostering a unique and shared cultural moment for music lovers worldwide.
