Ritchie Blackmore Announces 2027 Tour Dates After Hiatus
Ritchie Blackmore and his wife Candice Night announced on November 3, 2026, that Blackmore’s Night will play six concerts in March 2027 across the US East Coast. The run marks the 30th anniversary of the medieval folk project, which the former Deep Purple guitarist and Night formed in 1997.
Candice Night shared the news on social media, writing: “Dust off that garb, grab your dancing shoes and get ready to sing and dance and celebrate the incredible 30 year journey of Blackmore’s Night.” Tickets for five of the six shows go on sale Friday, November 7, 2026, while tickets for the Port Washington, New York date are set to go on sale Monday, November 9, 2026.

Why Did Ritchie Blackmore Cancel His Fall 2025 Tour?
The newly announced dates come after Blackmore had to pull the plug on a planned fall 2025 Blackmore’s Night tour. The cancellation followed a frightening episode in Newton, New Jersey, where Blackmore endured days of nonstop vomiting, dizziness and an inability to stand upright.
An ambulance was called and Blackmore was taken to the hospital, where doctors ran CAT scans and other tests before diagnosing him with severe vertigo. In his own account of the ordeal, Blackmore explained that he has long dealt with herniated discs in his lumbar spine and neck that typically require back injections before touring, but that debilitating ocular migraines had recently emerged as a new complication, with visual disturbances warning him an attack was imminent.
Describing the vertigo to Ultimate Classic Rock, Blackmore called it “the worst thing I’ve ever been involved with,” saying it surpassed even his past struggles with heart problems and gout. He said the condition left him so dizzy that he would fall and lose the ability to think clearly.
How Is Ritchie Blackmore Planning His Comeback?
Speaking in May 2026, Blackmore said his strategy for returning to live performance centered on booking shows within a short distance of his Long Island home, since longer trips seemed to throw off his equilibrium. He noted that traveling had unsettled him since childhood, recalling that he used to get sick during trips as a nine or ten year old. The six newly announced March 2027 dates, all clustered across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, line up with that plan.
Ritchie Blackmore’s Deep Purple Reunion
In August 2026, Blackmore made a surprise return to the stage with Deep Purple, joining his former bandmates in Wantagh, New York to play “Smoke on the Water.” It was his first time performing alongside the band in 33 years.
Talking to Guitar Player about the reunion, Blackmore described the moment as “very moving,” noting he had to start playing almost immediately without time to warm up. “I was there to see old friends I hadn’t seen in 40 years, and we’re all getting older. I think we realized it could be the last time we see each other, maybe,” he said.
On November 2, 2026, Deep Purple canceled the remaining dates of their 2026 UK and European tour because of health issues affecting frontman Ian Gillan.
