Bruce Hornsby Reunites With Bonnie Raitt on New Single ‘Ecstatic,’ Announces 24-Date U.S. Tour

Bruce Hornsby has released “Ecstatic,” a new single featuring Bonnie Raitt, marking the latest chapter in a collaboration that stretches back more than three decades. The track, out today (March 4), is the second single from Hornsby’s forthcoming album Indigo Park, set for release April 3 via Zappo Productions/Thirty Tigers.

The song was inspired by chants Hornsby heard during his children’s AAU basketball days, incorporating call-and-response refrains drawn from sideline heckling. The accompanying music video features members of the LSU Lady Tigers basketball team. Hornsby’s son Keith played college ball for UNC Asheville and LSU and currently plays professionally in Europe.

The pairing reunites two artists with deep shared history. Hornsby played piano on Raitt’s 1991 hit “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” while Raitt sang backing vocals on tracks from Hornsby’s 1993 album Harbor Lights. On “Ecstatic,” Raitt provides harmonies over a production that Stereogum described as “crystalline and electronic,” a departure from Hornsby’s typical sonic palette.

About Indigo Park

The 10-track Indigo Park also features collaborations with the late Grateful Dead singer-guitarist Bob Weir, Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, and lyrics by the late Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter. Contributors include bassist Pino Palladino, guitarist Blake Mills, and drummer Chris Dave, alongside Hornsby’s longtime backing group The Noisemakers.

Hornsby, who turned 70 in 2024, began work on the album after a prolific stretch that saw him release four albums in five years. “It’s just an old bastard, looking back,” Hornsby said in a statement. “To be honest, I’ve found a way, a path to grow old gracefully, with help from some newborn friends of mine.”

The album’s title track served as the lead single. Indigo Park is available to pre-order now on CD, vinyl LP, and digital formats.

2026 U.S. Tour Dates

In support of Indigo Park, Hornsby will take The Noisemakers on a 24-date U.S. tour beginning April 9. The itinerary includes a stop at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the High Water Music Festival, two nights at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, and a closing date at the Great South Bay Music Festival in Patchogue, New York on July 25.
