Chicago native Yung Berg emerged in the music industry during the mid-2000s, gaining recognition with his breakout hit “Sexy Lady” in 2007. His journey began at a young age of 15 when he secured a record deal with DMX’s Bloodline Records, only to be abruptly withdrawn by his parents, who sent him to a military boarding school in Montana. Upon his return, Yung Berg relocated to Los Angeles to reignite his music career. Collaborating with Disturbing tha Peace member and Chicago rapper Shawnna, he ventured into the industry as a hype man and provided vocal and writing support in the studio. Establishing his imprint, Yung Boss, Berg expanded his repertoire by ghostwriting for various artists and producing tracks for industry heavyweights like Eve, Juelz Santana, and Memphis Bleek. The success of his single “Sexy Lady” in the L.A. music scene attracted the attention of major record labels, leading him to sign with Epic Records and release the EP “Almost Famous” in July 2007. This was followed by his debut album, “Look What You Made Me,” in the summer of 2008, featuring the hit collaboration “Sexy Can I” with singer Ray J.
