Byron Cage

Byron Cage began his journey in gospel music inspired by singers like Rev. Donald Vails and Thomas Whitfield. Starting his music career as a teenager, Cage later became the music director for the New Birth Church in Atlanta and a minister of music at Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, MD. With his group Purpose, formed in the mid-’90s, Cage recorded three remarkable live albums: Transparent in Your Presence, Dwell Among Us, and The Prince of Praise. His exceptional talent led him to receive five Stellar Awards for his 2003 Prince of Praise album and a Grammy nomination in 2006 for An Invitation to Worship released in 2005. Following these successes, Live at the Apollo: The Proclamation was released in 2007, Faithful to Believe in 2009, and Memoirs of a Worshipper in 2012.
