Case

A native New Yorker, Case started his music career in the ’90s, providing backup vocals on albums for well-known R&B artists such as Usher. He was signed to the Def Jam label in the mid-’90s and released his debut self-titled album in 1996, followed by Personal Conversation in 1999 and Open Letter in 2001. On Open Letter, Case crafted each song with a specific person in mind, including a dedicated track for his daughter called ‘A Song for Skye’ and tracks like ‘Love of My Life’ and ‘Shine’ inspired by the legendary Stevie Wonder. Collaborating with renowned producers like Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Tim & Bob, Case ventured into entrepreneurship by launching his own label, Indigo Blue, after requesting to be released from his Def Jam contract in 2004. The Rose Experience marked the label’s first release in 2009, followed by Here, My Love in 2010 under Real Talk Entertainment and Heaven’s Door in 2015 under eOne.
