Singer and songwriter d4vd, also pronounced as “David”, is renowned for his captivating moody bedroom-style indie pop and R&B music. His artistic journey began with gaining recognition through his engaging Fortnite game videos, which led to a breakthrough moment with the release of his single “Romantic Homicide” in 2022. The year 2023 marked the arrival of his debut EPs, namely Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, solidifying his presence in the music scene.
Born in Houston, David Anthony Burke goes by the stage name d4vd. He initiated his online presence by sharing videos of himself showcasing his skills in the popular game Fortnite during his teenage years. Progressing further, in 2021, he ventured into producing his own music using BandLab and began releasing his laid-back indie pop creations like “You and I,” “Life’s a Dream,” and “Take Me to the Sun.” However, it was the introduction of his emo-inspired track “Romantic Homicide” in July 2022 that garnered immense attention and propelled him into the spotlight, reaching number 33 on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart by September of the same year. This success led to a significant record deal with Darkroom Records. Subsequently, d4vd delighted fans with more hit singles before dropping his debut EP, Petals to Thorns, in May 2023, gaining recognition by charting on the Billboard 200. By September 2023, he followed up with his second EP, The Lost Petals. His musical journey continued with notable tracks like 2023’s “Call Me Revenge” featuring 21 Savage and 2024’s “Leave Her,” showcasing his evolving artistry.
