Contemporary rocker and singer/songwriter Daniel Bedingfield, hailing from southeast London but originally born in New Zealand, was greatly influenced by contemporary R&B music. Together with his sisters Natasha and Nikola, he formed their first band, the DNA Algorhythm. The inspiration for Daniel Bedingfield’s breakout hit ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ came from a girlfriend in Leeds, leading him to record the track in his bedroom using a simple microphone connected to his home computer. Shortly after its release by independent label Relentless Records in December 2001, the song quickly climbed to the top of the U.K. singles chart, propelling the then 21-year-old pop singer to local stardom. Following his success, Bedingfield signed with Polydor UK and released his debut album ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ in the autumn of 2002, followed by ‘Second First Impression’ in 2005. Taking a break in 2006, Bedingfield focused on producing music for other artists before making a comeback in 2012 with the single ‘Rocks Off.’ The same year, he also dropped the EP ‘Stop the Traffik – Secret Fear,’ the first installment of a series of three EP releases for 2012. – Drago Bonacich, Rovi.
