Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy is an American rock band formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2001. The group consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, lead guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley. Originating from Chicago’s hardcore punk scene, the band was initially created by Wentz and Trohman as a pop-punk side project, later joined by Stump. Their debut album, Take This to Your Grave (2003), gained significant popularity, establishing a loyal fan base through extensive touring.
Led by Wentz as the band’s lyricist and Stump as the primary composer, Fall Out Boy achieved mainstream success with their 2005 major-label breakthrough, From Under the Cork Tree. This album produced hit singles like “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” and “Dance, Dance”, leading to immense success and elevating Wentz to a celebrity status. Subsequent albums such as Infinity on High (2007) and Folie à Deux (2008) showcased the band’s versatility, with chart-topping tracks like “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race” and “Thnks fr th Mmrs”. Their journey continued with albums like Save Rock and Roll (2013) and American Beauty/American Psycho (2015), which further solidified their position in the music industry.
Fall Out Boy’s music journey continued with the release of Mania (2018), their seventh studio album, which topped the charts, maintaining their streak of successful albums. The band’s achievements include headlining a show at Wrigley Field and receiving multiple Grammy nominations. In 2023, Fall Out Boy announced their eighth studio album, So Much (for) Stardust, demonstrating their enduring creativity and commitment to their artistry.
