Joe Diffie

Joe Diffie, a Grammy-award winner and a Nashville star in the ’90s, showcased his traditional sensibilities through humorous novelties and heartfelt ballads. Born in 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Diffie’s musical journey began early, performing with his aunt’s country band at the age of four. Transitioning through various music genres, including rock, gospel, and bluegrass bands, he honed his songwriting and singing skills while working in a foundry. Diffie’s breakthrough came when his song ‘Love on the Rocks’ was recorded by Hank Thompson, leading him to move to Nashville in 1986. His debut album, ‘A Thousand Winding Roads,’ released in 1990, produced chart-topping singles like ‘Home’ and ‘If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets).’
