Since her breakthrough in 2020, acclaimed singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun has been hailed by Rolling Stone as ‘Nashville’s most low-key musical revolutionary’ and celebrated for her uniquely vulnerable voice. Oladokun has released two highly acclaimed albums, 2021’s in defense of my own happiness and 2023’s Proof of Life. Oladokun’s new Observations From a Crowded Room, marks a significant evolution in her career. Solely written and produced by Oladokun, the album represents a personal and artistic turning point, crafted during a period of introspection and questioning. In addition to releasing new music, Oladokun is embarking on an extensive tour that includes dates with Hozier and Tyler Childers, along with select headline shows. A proud queer Black woman and daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Oladokun has graced prestigious stages like the White House for the Respect for Marriage Act signing ceremony, as well as national TV appearances including ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,’ ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ and ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ She has also performed on ‘CBS Saturday Morning,’ ‘TODAY,’ and NPR Music’s ‘Tiny Desk (Home) Concert.’ Widely respected by her peers, Oladokun has collaborated with artists such as Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, and Noah Kahan and has joined John Mayer, Pink Sweat$, Leon Bridges and more on the road.
