Houston rapper KenTheMan delivers candid and witty lyrics focusing on topics of intimacy and relationships. Her musical journey began with a style rooted in freestyle and clever punchlines, but it was her breakthrough track “He Be Like” in 2019 that propelled her career to new heights, featured on her successful mixtape 4 da 304’s in 2020. KenTheMan has consistently honed her craft, maintaining an unfiltered lyrical approach evident in her 2021 release, What’s My Name. The pivotal moment came with her signing to Roc Nation, leading to the release of Back to 304’n in 2023.
Kentavia Miller discovered her passion for rap during her high school years in the early 2010s, initially rapping with friends. However, her aspirations were briefly halted by heartbreak inflicted by her ex-boyfriend, also a rapper. Despite taking time off to focus on motherhood, KenTheMan reclaimed her confidence and made a bold statement with a diss track aimed at her ex, set to the backdrop of “Chiraq” by G Herbo and Nicki Minaj. Her debut mixtape, Kenny’s Back in 2015, showcased her raw talent through freestyles, laying the groundwork for her evolution into KenTheMan. The emotionally charged single “Deserve” in 2017 and the viral sensation “He Be Like” in 2019 marked significant milestones in her career. KenTheMan’s musical journey continued with the release of her 2020 mixtape 4 da 304’s and collaborations like “For Me” with Chase B and OMB Bloodbath. Following a signing with Asylum, she unveiled What’s My Name in 2021, featuring a remix of “Rose Gold Stripper Pole” with 2 Chainz.”
KenTheMan further asserted her musical prowess with the double release of Hard on a 304 and the single “No Panties” in 2022, garnering attention with the viral sensation “Not My N*gga.” Embracing another milestone, she joined forces with Roc Nation for the release of Back to 304’n in 2023, solidifying her position as a rising star in the rap scene. – Paul Simpson, Rovi
