Meek Mill

Robert Rihmeek Williams, professionally known as Meek Mill, is an American rapper hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Starting his musical journey as a battle rapper, Meek Mill later became a part of the rap group, The Bloodhoundz, before being signed by Atlanta-based rapper T.I. to his first record deal in 2008. After a stint with Grand Hustle Records, Meek Mill joined forces with Miami-based rapper Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group (MMG) in February 2011. His debut album, ‘Dreams and Nightmares,’ dropped in 2012 under MMG and Warner Bros. Records, featuring hit single ‘Amen’ with Drake, which reached number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.
In 2012, Meek Mill introduced his own label, Dream Chasers Records, in tribute to his mixtape series. His fame soared after his singles ‘Tupac Back’ and ‘Ima Boss’ were featured on MMG’s Self Made compilation. Subsequent albums, ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money’ (2015) and ‘Wins & Losses’ (2016), solidified his place in the rap scene. ‘Championships,’ his fourth studio album released in 2018, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, with the lead single ‘Going Bad’ featuring Drake achieving significant chart success. Meek Mill’s latest album, ‘Expensive Pain,’ hit the music scene on October 1, 2021, continuing his musical legacy with fresh tracks and captivating beats.
In a challenging period, Meek Mill faced legal troubles and a prison sentence in 2017 due to parole violations but was eventually released after five months. The journey inspired a documentary series, ‘Free Meek,’ on Amazon Prime Video in 2019, shedding light on his battle with the justice system. Collaborating with Jay-Z, Meek Mill became an advocate for prison reform, co-founding the Reform Alliance, which advocates for national prison reform through legislative efforts.
