Midland

Double Grammy® nominees Midland have reintroduced the Western plains, Laurel Canyon-cum-Bakersfield, and Lone Star juke joints to Country music. The trio, consisting of lead singer/guitarist Mark Wystrach, bassist/vocalist Cameron Duddy, and lead guitarist/vocalist Jess Carson, came together at a friend’s wedding over common influences and the need for a return to post-Urban Cowboy Country. Their five-times platinum hit “Drinkin’ Problem” paved the way for their critically acclaimed albums “On The Rocks” and “Let It Roll,” securing a No. 1 position on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Midland has successfully united classic country fans, hipsters, and media outlets like Entertainment Weekly, GQ, The Washington Post, Vogue, Esquire, Variety, Rolling Stone, and NPR. Based in Dripping Springs, Texas, the trio has developed their sound at the storied Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas and has garnered a devoted following that has sold out the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show and packed multiple nights at Ft. Worth’s iconic Billy Bob’s.
Midland also made a mark by re-opening North Hollywood’s legendary Palomino Club for a one-night performance. Their new album “Barely Blue,” produced by Dave Cobb under Big Machine Records, is an eight-song exploration of loneliness, masculinity, and resilience in the face of heartache. Transitioning from a bar band to an in-demand headliner, Midland has grown to host their own cruise in April 2024, showcasing their retro-Nuevo style.
