Migos

Migos, an American hip hop group established in East Atlanta, particularly Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 2008, consisted of rapper Quavo, his nephew Takeoff, and cousin Offset. Quavo hails from Athens, Georgia, while Offset and Takeoff grew up in Lawrenceville. The group was under the management of Coach K, former manager of Gucci Mane and Jeezy, and frequently collaborated with renowned producers like DJ Durel, Murda Beatz, Zaytoven, and Buddah Bless. Their impact on trap music in the 2010s was recognized by Billboard, stating that they brought their North Atlanta roots into mainstream pop culture and the English language.
Migos’ journey began with their 2013 debut single, “Versace,” originating from their third mixtape Y.R.N. (Young Rich Niggas). The track gained popularity after a remix by Canadian rapper Drake, entering the Billboard Hot 100. Subsequent hits like “Fight Night” and “Look at My Dab” followed in the coming years. Their 2016 single, “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, reached the top of the charts. Collaborations like “MotorSport” with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, along with 2018’s “Stir Fry” and “Walk It Talk It” featuring Drake, achieved top ten placements.
After signing with Quality Control Music and 300 Entertainment, Migos debuted their first studio album, Yung Rich Nation (2015), receiving positive reviews and peaking at number 17 on the Billboard 200. Their second album, Culture (2017), debuted at number one, supported by the success of “Bad and Boujee.” The trio’s commercial peak came with the release of Culture II (2018), their third album, which sold around 200,000 album-equivalent units in the first week. Their latest album, Culture III (2021), reached number two on the Billboard 200.
