Phoebe Lucille Bridgers is an American singer-songwriter known for her indie folk music characterized by acoustic guitar and electronic production, often exploring melancholic lyrical themes. Born on August 17, 1994, in Pasadena, California, Bridgers has been involved in music since a young age and was a member of Sloppy Jane before pursuing her solo career. Her debut album, ‘Stranger in the Alps,’ released in 2017, and the subsequent ‘Punisher’ in 2020, have both received critical acclaim. Additionally, she is part of the supergroup boygenius, collaborating on a self-titled EP in 2018, followed by a debut album and another EP in 2023. Furthermore, Bridgers collaborated with Conor Oberst to form Better Oblivion Community Center, releasing an album and two singles together.
Apart from her solo work, Bridgers has collaborated with a diverse range of artists such as Taylor Swift, Matty Healy from the 1975, Muna, SZA, Kid Cudi, Christian Lee Hutson, Shame, and the National. Known for her progressive political stance, Bridgers actively supports various causes through advocacy and fundraising efforts. Her talent and versatile collaborations have earned her four Grammy Awards out of eleven nominations, solidifying her position as a prominent figure in the music industry.
