SAINt JHN, a versatile artist specializing in slow jams with lucid lyrics and shadowy sonic tones, has made a significant mark in the music industry. Initially recognized for his behind-the-scenes work with renowned artists like Kiesza and Usher, SAINt JHN stepped into the spotlight with his debut album, Collection One, in 2018. His second album, Ghetto Lenny’s Love Songs (2019), supported by HITCO, gained widespread acclaim, especially for the collaboration with Beyoncé on ‘Brown Skin Girl,’ which soared to the Top 40 of the Billboard 200. Notably, the club remix of his earlier track ‘Roses’ achieved global success, later included in his 2020 hit album, While the World Was Burning.
Born and raised in Brooklyn and Guyana, SAINt JHN, also known as Carlos St. John in his early releases, embarked on his music journey by self-releasing material and co-writing for various artists. His collaborations with Hoodie Allen, Kiesza, Nico & Vinz, Gorgon City, and Usher, among others, set the stage for his solo career. Encouraged by industry mentor Zach Katz, SAINt JHN reintroduced his solo work in 2016, including tracks like ‘Roses’ and ‘Reflex.’ Subsequent releases like ‘3 Below’ and ‘Some Nights’ paved the way for his debut full-length album, Collection One. The success of singles and collaborations, including ‘Brown Skin Girl’ for Beyoncé’s album, led to the well-received Ghetto Lenny’s Love Songs in 2019, released under the HITCO label.
Continuing his winning streak, SAINt JHN collaborated with producers and artists across genres, achieving chart-topping success with tracks like ‘Roses’ and ‘Reflex.’ His versatile style attracted attention globally, leading to collaborations with artists like Marshmello, Giggs, and Southside in 2020. Featured on the hit ‘Tommy Lee’ alongside Tyla Yaweh and Post Malone, SAINt JHN’s musical journey culminated in his 2020 album, While the World Was Burning, featuring a star-studded lineup of guest artists. His ability to blend trap, ballad, and club elements in his music has garnered him international acclaim, making him a standout figure in the contemporary music landscape.
