Quincy Matthew Hanley, known professionally as Schoolboy Q, is a prominent American rapper. Schoolboy Q signed with Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) in 2009 and later with Interscope Records in 2011. He is also a member of the hip-hop supergroup Black Hippy, joining Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and Kendrick Lamar. Starting with his mixtape ‘ScHoolboy Turned Hustla’ in 2008, Schoolboy Q continued to release successful projects like ‘Gangsta & Soul’ in 2009 and ‘Setbacks’ in 2011. These independent releases set the stage for his major-label debut with ‘Oxymoron’ in 2014.
