Born Carl Terrell Mitchell, Twista made his debut on the platinum single ‘Po Pimp’ by fellow Windy City rappers Do or Die. He signed with Big Beat/Atlantic and released his debut album, Adrenaline Rush, in 1997. Twista’s career flourished with subsequent albums like Mobstability, Legit Ballin’, and Kamikaze.
