Young M.A, a hardcore rapper from New York City’s Brooklyn borough, is known for her raw and unapologetic approach to music. Her lyrics reflect a tough outlook on life, as heard in her introspective track “Though the Day” where she candidly addresses the loss of her brother. Rising to fame with the 2016 hit single “OOOUU,” Young M.A continued to make waves with her 2019 album “Herstory in the Making” and the 2021 release of her second album, “Off the Yak.” Part of the RedLyfe group, Young M.A first grabbed attention in 2014 with the crew’s standout performance in “Brooklyn (Chiraq Freestyle).” Recognized by prominent figures in the industry, she was introduced as “one of the dopest MCs right now” by Buckshot during Mobb Deep’s celebratory event in April of the same year.
