Country-rock musician Cody Jinks is set to release his much-anticipated 11th studio album, “In My Blood,” on July 25, 2025. Significantly, this album marks a continuation of Jinks' deeply reflective and authentic style, promising fans a genuinely immersive musical journey. Recorded at The Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, the album benefits from an atmospheric backdrop that has been influential in shaping Jinks' sound. This setting offers an isolated environment, allowing artists to focus intensely on their craft. Co-producer Joshua Thompson and musicians such as David Colvin, Jake Lentner, and Lenny Castro have contributed to crafting an album that blends traditional honky-tonk with the intensity of Southern rock, creating a gritty, soulful edge indicative of modern outlaw country music.

One of the standout features of “In My Blood” is its collaboration with Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke on the title track. Both Jinks and Starr share a passion for the authentic and unpretentious approach to music-making, which is reflected in their seamless integration on this project. This collaboration exemplifies the album's exploration of themes such as resilience, personal growth, and redemption, crucial elements that resonate deeply with Jinks' audience. The single “Found,” co-written by Ward Davis, Brent Sherkoy, and Andrew Peebles, heralds the album and is set to debut on May 2, 2025. The song encourages listeners to embrace their personal journeys, adding an inspiring dimension to the music's already profound lyrical landscape.

The album's thematic preoccupation with reflection and self-discovery extends throughout its tracklist. Each song, marked by Jinks' signature sound, tells a story of resilience and growth. For instance, “When Time Didn’t Fly” evokes nostalgia and longing for the innocence of youth, a sentiment made all the more poignant by Jinks' powerful baritone voice. Similarly, “The Others,” a collaboration with Ray Wylie Hubbard and Tennessee Jed, emphasizes the importance of unity and shared human experiences, offering a unique reflection on commonality amidst diversity.

“In My Blood” signals a new era in Jinks’ career, as it is both a continuation and evolution of his musical journey. This is evident in the instrumentation and production of the album, which, while rooted in traditional country themes, incorporates a stripped-down approach that complements Jinks' reflective lyrics. His band, alongside producers Thompson and Godfrey, has fashioned an album that resonates with both authenticity and innovation. This approach ensures that each track is crafted into a piece of art that truly represents Jinks' artistic vision.

As part of the album's promotional activities, Jinks will embark on his headlining Hippies & Cowboys Tour starting in Columbia, Missouri. This live tour signifies more than just a series of performances; it represents the embodiment of the themes and messages espoused in “In My Blood.” This venture allows fans to experience firsthand the energy and passion that Jinks and his collaborators have infused into their latest work. Furthermore, to celebrate the release, a limited edition vinyl variant will be available for a 72-hour pre-order window, allowing fans to own a piece of this significant chapter in Jinks' career.
