– July 29: The Byrds released the influential country-rock album “Sweetheart of the Rodeo”.
**1973**
– July 28: The Summer Jam at Watkins Glen, an outdoor concert featuring The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, and The Band, attracted an estimated 600,000 rock fans.
**1979**
– July 30: “I Don't Like Mondays” by The Boomtown Rats is released.
**1980**
– July 29: AC/DC release their hit album “Back in Black” following the death of their original lead singer Bon Scott.
**1986**
– July 30: The final original band member of Journey, bassist Ross Valory, leaves the band.
