Rush is bolstering its highly anticipated Fifty Something reunion tour by adding 11 new shows. The expansion responds to intense fan demand and allows the legendary Canadian rock band to bring their music to more cities in 2026.

The Tour Return & Why the Additions

After an 11-year hiatus from live performance, and following the 2020 passing of drummer Neil Peart, founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced that they would return to the stage. To honor Peart’s legacy while reigniting their creative spark, the pair recruited drummer Anika Nilles for the live lineup and announced a North American tour across multiple cities.

Initial reports indicated a modest set of dates, but due to overwhelming interest, the band expanded the run and now lists 12 shows (or more, depending on reporting) across seven markets. The added shows broaden their reach and give fans who missed earlier onsales another chance to attend.

Geddy Lee has spoken emotionally about how the time off allowed reflection and that returning now feels right. Meanwhile, the inclusion of Nilles both pays tribute to Peart’s standard and brings renewed energy to the live performances.

What the Expansion Signals

  • High demand & fan excitement: The fact that Rush is comfortable expanding suggests confidence in strong ticket sales and a reinvigorated fanbase.

  • Logistical challenge & reward: More dates mean more travel, crew, and scheduling complexities, but also greater reach and revenue potential.

  • Tribute and evolution: Every added show increases opportunities for the band to balance tribute to Neil Peart with new expressions of their music.

  • Flexibility in routing: Additional dates may allow better spacing, rest days, or inclusion of additional cities that were previously excluded.
