Fitz and the Tantrums, the multiplatinum pop/rock band renowned for hits such as “Out of My League” and “Handclap,” are back with a new single titled “Ruin the Night.” Known for infusing energy with their distinct sound and catchy tunes, the Los Angeles-based band aims to blend lyrical introspection with danceable beats in this track. Describing their new song, co-lead vocalist Michael ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick notes that “Ruin the Night” addresses the challenge of moving forward while memories from the past linger. The track is part of a broader effort by the band to explore new themes while retaining the infectious quality that fans have come to love.

In conjunction with the release of “Ruin the Night,” Fitz and the Tantrums have announced an extensive 2025 summer tour across the United States, dubbed the “Man on the Moon” tour. Kicking off on July 24 in San Diego, the tour will visit 31 cities, ending on August 31 in Austin, Texas. The tour will include stops at prominent venues such as OC Fair in Costa Mesa, CA, the Denver Botanical Gardens in CO, and the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Frontman Fitzpatrick refers to the tour as a burst of “guaranteed serotonin,” promising fans a vibrant mix of past hits and fresh tracks, accompanied by an atmosphere of lively dance and nostalgia.

The excitement around Fitz and the Tantrums' latest endeavors is palpable, given the band's historical impact on the pop/rock scene. The band has been a significant player since their formation in 2008, bringing a unique combination of pop, indie, soul, and dance music into mainstream culture. Their chart-topping songs have not only dominated radio airwaves but have also become staples at sporting events and various commercial advertisements. Their capability to produce earworm melodies, coupled with spirited live performances, has solidified their status as a must-see live act.

Fans eager to secure their spot at one of these summer shows can access presale tickets starting from April, with general sales opening shortly after. The anticipation for live music, a shared communal experience, and the immersive joy of Fitz and the Tantrums live shows suggest that the “Man on the Moon” tour will be a highlight of the summer music season. Ultimately, the release of “Ruin the Night” coupled with the upcoming tour, marks an exciting chapter for Fitz and the Tantrums, promising to deliver the same electrifying energy that they are known for.
