The iconic rock band AC/DC is set to embark on a monumental North American tour in 2025, marking their first return to the continent since 2015. Titled the Power Up tour, named after their 2020 album, this series of concerts will take AC/DC to 13 stadiums across the United States and Canada, kicking off on April 10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and concluding on May 28 in Cleveland, Ohio. This tour is particularly significant as it represents the band’s return to North America after a significant absence, with their last tour staged nearly a decade ago. The Power Up tour is generating immense anticipation amongst fans, as AC/DC prepares to bring their electrifying stage presence to iconic venues such as the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, and Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

AC/DC's current lineup features some of the classic members as well as new additions that promise to deliver the high-energy performances the band is renowned for. The lineup includes founding member and lead guitarist Angus Young, longtime lead vocalist Brian Johnson, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and bassist Chris Chaney. Interestingly, Laug and Chaney joined the band in this current touring configuration, with Laug replacing veteran drummer Phil Rudd and Chaney stepping in for Cliff Williams, who had announced his retirement following the band's 2015-2016 Rock or Bust tour. Despite changes in their lineup, the core essence of AC/DC’s explosive sound remains intact under the masterful musicianship of these seasoned performers.

A highlight for this tour will be the support act, The Pretty Reckless, adding an additional allure to an already enticing lineup. The band is expected to perform a mix of their classic hits alongside tracks from their Grammy-nominated Power Up album, including singles like “Shot in the Dark” and “Realize.” This continues their tradition of delivering powerful rock performances that have solidified their reputation over the decades. The anticipation surrounding their North American dates suggests a blend of old favorites and new material that will resonate with audiences of all ages. Negative responses to previous changes, such as Axl Rose replacing Johnson due to health issues, have been mitigated by Johnson's reinstatement post-recovery. With the aid of new hearing technology developed in collaboration with sound expert Stephen Ambrose, Johnson is able to continue fronting the band, much to the delight of longtime fans.

The momentum of their recent European success is expected to carry over to North America, as AC/DC recently completed a well-received European leg of the Power Up tour, culminating in a spectacular show in Dublin. As tickets for the North American tour become available on December 6, fans are eagerly preparing to purchase their entry to what promises to be a must-see rock event of the year.
