Billy Idol and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts have embarked on an electrifying joint tour titled “It’s a Nice Day To…Tour Again!” which kicked off on April 30th, 2025, at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix, Arizona. The tour, which is split into two legs, marks a continuation of joint artistic ventures between the rock legends who have long been influential figures in the rock and punk rock scenes. Following the first leg that concludes in Toronto on May 23, the tour will resume later in the summer from August 16 until September 25, wrapping up at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Such geographical sprawl suggests a robust schedule tailored to reach widespread audiences across North America.

Both artists delivered stunning performances filled with timeless hits and newer compositions that highlight their enduring appeal and dynamic artistry. Billy Idol's setlist included beloved anthems like “Rebel Yell,” “Dancing With Myself,” and “White Wedding,” while also showcasing his new work from the recently released album, “Dream Into It.” This album, released just a week before the tour commenced, marks his first full-length record in over a decade, which portrays his continued relevance and willingness to evolve as an artist. Notably, Idol's performance also featured a captivating guitar solo by Steve Stevens, which wowed audiences with renditions of classics by Led Zeppelin and Van Halen.

Joan Jett, along with her band The Blackhearts, kicked off their set with “Change the World” and brought a nostalgic energy with familiar tracks such as “I Love Rock ‘n' Roll,” “Crimson & Clover,” and “Bad Reputation.” In homage to her roots, Jett included songs from her days with The Runaways, like “Cherry Bomb” and “You Drive Me Wild,” bridging her long-standing history with each note played. Furthermore, Jett’s setlist also integrated covers like The Replacements' “Androgynous” and Sly and the Family Stone's “Everyday People,” highlighting her versatility and her band's ability to effortlessly merge sounds from different eras and artists.

The tour serves not only as a concert event but as a celebration of rock ‘n' roll history, sharing with audiences the powerful legacies of these two iconic figures. The synergy between Idol’s and Jett’s stage presence, coupled with their deep catalogs, makes this tour particularly compelling. Their seamless blend of recognized classics and newer material ensures a fresh yet familiar experience, aligning with the expectations of long-time fans while potentially drawing newer listeners.

Both performers have consistently demonstrated an ability to adapt to the changing contours of the modern music industry while staying true to their vibrant rock roots. This tour exemplifies that adaptability and resilience, promising fans an unforgettable night of music that transcends generations. With every note and lyric, Idol and Jett reaffirm their positions as pioneers in the music world, emphasizing the enduring appeal of rock music.
