Metallica Adds 2027 North American M72 Tour Dates With Limp Bizkit and Avatar
Metallica has announced 12 new North American stadium dates for 2027, extending the band’s M72 World Tour into another year on the road. Limp Bizkit and Avatar will open the shows, which are set to begin May 8, 2027 at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, and wrap up June 19, 2027 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- The 2027 leg hits 12 cities across the United States and Canada, all places Metallica has not visited during this run of the M72 tour.
- Every stop features a single show rather than the two-night “No Repeat Weekends” format used on earlier legs of the tour.
- The new dates land shortly after Metallica’s “Life Burns Faster” Sphere residency in Las Vegas concludes.
- Fan club presale tickets go on sale September 21, 2026, ahead of a general on-sale September 25, 2026.

How to Get Tickets for Metallica’s 2027 Tour
Metallica’s fan club members get first access to tickets starting Monday, September 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Citi cardmembers and Verizon Shine loyalty members can access their own presales beginning September 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Tickets open to the general public go on sale Friday, September 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.
Metallica’s Sphere Residency Comes Before the 2027 Tour
Before returning to stadiums, Metallica will perform its “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Las Vegas Sphere, running from October 1, 2026 through March 13, 2027 across 24 shows. Those 24 residency dates have all sold out.
Metallica is also booked for two additional shows this fall at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, on November 19 and 21, 2026, marking the venue’s 25th anniversary. Suicidal Tendencies will open the November 19 show, while Spiritbox will open the November 21 performance.
The M72 World Tour’s Run So Far
The M72 World Tour began in April 2023, and by the time of this new announcement Metallica had performed 99 shows across 26 countries, drawing close to five million attendees. The tour’s most recent stop before this new leg was a two-night engagement at London Stadium on July 3 and 5, 2025.
