Pearl Jam is putting a rare full-album concert onto vinyl for the first time. The new release, titled “Ten Live,” documents the band’s April 29, 2016 show at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, where the group played its debut album “Ten” from start to finish.

The three-sided LP arrives to coincide with the 35th anniversary of “Ten,” which first hit shelves on August 27, 1991. Release-date reports differ slightly between outlets: one lists November 29 as the street date, while another cites November 27.

  • “Ten Live” was recorded April 29, 2016, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
  • The concert was mixed by longtime Pearl Jam associate Josh Evans.
  • The album will be sold as a standard black vinyl edition and as a clear-vinyl version reserved for members of the band’s Ten Club fan organization.
  • “Ten” was originally released on August 27, 1991.

Why the Philadelphia ‘Ten’ Show Was So Rare

Playing “Ten” in full has happened only twice in Pearl Jam’s history. The first instance came on March 13, 1992, at the Nachtwerk club in Munich, Germany, during promotional touring for the record. The April 29, 2016 concert at the Wells Fargo Center marked the only time the band has performed the album in its entirety on American soil.

The decision to play the record straight through was made on the spot by frontman Eddie Vedder after he found out the Philadelphia gig was the band’s 10th consecutive sold-out show at the arena. Venue staff marked the milestone with a banner reading “Pearl Jam 10 South Philadelphia Sellouts.” Addressing the crowd before the band launched into the album track by track, Vedder said, “I saw that number and I was like, I think we gotta do it.”

Beyond the “Ten” performance, the full concert stretched to a 32-song set that included tour debuts of “Bee Girl” and “All or None,” along with a cover of Neil Young’s “Throw Your Hatred Down.”

‘Ten Live’ Tracklist

The vinyl release covers the “Ten” portion of the concert across three sides:

  1. Intro

  3. Even Flow
  4. Alive
  5. Why Go
  6. Black
  7. Jeremy
  8. Oceans
  9. Porch
  10. Garden

  12. Release
  13. Master/Slave

Fans who don’t want to wait for the vinyl pressing can already rent or stream a professionally shot video of the complete April 29, 2016 concert. Ten Club members can access the same performance footage as part of their membership.
