Rod Stewart Cancels Remaining ‘One Last Time’ Tour Dates After Coronary Stent Procedure
Rod Stewart has pulled the plug on the rest of his North American “One Last Time” farewell tour after undergoing what his team describes as a routine coronary stent procedure. The news was shared in a statement posted to the 81-year-old singer’s Instagram account on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, following what the post called further medical evaluation.
A coronary stent procedure typically involves threading a mesh tube or balloon catheter into a blocked heart artery to restore proper blood flow. Stewart’s representatives said his operation went well, that doctors are pleased with how he’s recovering, and that he has already resumed his normal daily routine.
- Stewart canceled a show at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on Sunday, August 9, originally citing an unspecified “minor medical procedure.”
- A performance at Rocket Arena in Cleveland was scrapped shortly afterward.
- Per his team, doctors have advised a four-week recovery period before he can return to performing.
- Ultimate Classic Rock reported that Stewart had 15 shows on the calendar between the announcement and mid-September before the cancellations were confirmed.
What Rod Stewart Said About Canceling His Tour
Stewart addressed fans directly in his own message on Instagram, writing: “I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend. I want to thank the doctors, nurses and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me. I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon.”
His representatives added that details on individual affected shows would come from each tour date’s promoters and venues rather than from Stewart’s camp directly.
Which Rod Stewart Tour Dates Are Cancelled?
The cancellations wipe out the remainder of the North American leg of the “One Last Time” tour, spanning a six-night Las Vegas residency, Midwestern stops and a run of Mexico shows.
- August 15: Kansas City, Missouri, Morton Amphitheater
- August 18 (start of a six-night residency): Las Vegas, Colosseum at Caesars Palace (“The Encore Shows”)
- Additional scheduled dates in Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa and Colorado, including a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater
- September 9 to 13: A run of shows in Mexico
Rod Stewart’s Health Struggles Throughout 2026
The stent procedure is the latest in a series of health issues that have disrupted Stewart’s touring schedule this year. In May, he canceled some dates in his Las Vegas residency and went on vocal rest because of a sinus infection, and in June he pulled out of a San Diego show citing laryngitis and a recurring sinus infection.
Later in June, Stewart nearly fainted while performing in Utah and had to stop mid-song during “Young Turks” to use an oxygen tank set up at the side of the stage.
Penny Lancaster’s Message of Support
Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster, 55, shared her own tribute after the heart procedure was announced, posting a photo of herself kissing her husband at home set to his song “You’re In My Heart.”
Is Rod Stewart Retiring From Touring?
Stewart has been on the “One Last Time” tour since 2024, a run that has already included a Legends slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury alongside Ronnie Wood, Mick Hucknall and Lulu. He has previously indicated that a planned 2027 UK tour, which includes a date at The O2, will “probably be it” as far as future touring is concerned.
