Friends, fans and followers of ZZ Top are the best in the business and the band is counting on everyone to bear with us for this brief interruption.”

Neither the band nor its representatives have specified what the “personnel matters” actually involved. The Hollywood Bowl date is not expected to be made up at a later time, according to reporting on the cancellation.

Refunds for Hollywood Bowl Ticket Holders

Anyone holding a ticket for the canceled show will see a refund issued automatically to the original payment method, a process that also covers parking and transportation add-ons. The Hollywood Bowl has said the refunds will land within five to seven business days and that ticket holders do not need to request anything themselves.

Cheap Trick Steps In With Troubadour Show

Cheap Trick, which had been sharing tour dates with ZZ Top, did not want to leave Los Angeles fans empty-handed. The band arranged a smaller, more intimate replacement performance at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, a club with a capacity of around 300, a steep drop from the Hollywood Bowl’s much larger seating. Demand for the last-minute show was high enough that tickets sold out quickly once they became available.

The cancellation did not derail the rest of “The Big One” tour. ZZ Top is still expected in Fresno, California on August 7, 2026 at the Saroyan Theater, with further stops planned in Saratoga and Modesto, California, followed by dates across Ohio, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and other states.

ZZ Top’s Current Lineup

ZZ Top now performs as a trio of guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard and bassist Elwood Francis. Francis took over on bass after founding member Dusty Hill died in his sleep in 2021 at age 72. Gibbons formed the band in 1969, and over the decades ZZ Top has released 15 studio albums, sold an estimated 50 million records, and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
