Mumford & Sons fans are in for a treat as the band has announced a series of intimate performances spanning three continents. In celebration of their upcoming album, Rushmere, the British folk-rock band is set to embark on a global club tour that promises a closer, more personal concert experience. This run of shows is significant as it marks the band's first headlining tour since 2019 and their first set of headline performances in the UK and Europe in seven years. The “Tour Before the Tour,” as it's being promoted, suggests that the band has even more extensive plans in the pipeline.

The tour kicks off on March 5 in Amsterdam at Melkweg, continuing to prestigious venues such as Paris's Elysee Montmartre, Berlin’s Metropol, and London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. The band will then journey to Australia, hitting the iconic Sydney Opera House on March 17, before traveling to North America for performances at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, The Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Allied Music Centre at Massey Hall in Toronto, and concluding at the Brooklyn Paramount in New York on March 26. Tickets are available in a presale for members of Agora, the band’s online community, beginning February 13, with general public sales starting February 14. This limited tour features just nine shows and emphasizes the band's desire for a more intimate connection with fans, creating an atmosphere distinct from their past large venue performances.

Rushmere is a landmark for the group as it is their first release in seven years, following 2018’s Delta. The album holds particular personal significance, named after a pond on Wimbledon Common, UK, where the band first conceived the idea of forming. It's also the first album recorded as a trio, with band members Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane at the helm. Production was managed by Grammy-award-winning producer Dave Cobb, with recording sessions held at RCA Studio A in Nashville, Savannah, and at Marcus Mumford’s studio in Devon. The album's lead single, which bears the same name, has already made an impression, resonating with long-time fans and reaching prominent positions on music charts.

Furthermore, Mumford & Sons are employing their tour as a platform for philanthropy. They've partnered with PLUS1 to ensure $1 from every ticket sold goes to War Child, a nonprofit organization focused on aiding children impacted by conflict. This charitable angle underscores the band's continued commitment to using their influence for social good. In alignment with these efforts, the group will also appear at SNL’s 50th-anniversary celebration, participating in The Homecoming Concert—a star-studded event featuring other notable artists like David Byrne and Jack White.

This announcement has stirred considerable excitement in the music community, with fans eager to see the band in a more enclosed and intimate setting. The limited availability and unique nature of these performances make them a must-see for devotees. Mumford & Sons' return with “Rushmere” promises to be a unique melding of new artistic expressions combined with their signature sound, all delivered in a format that prioritizes closeness and personal connection with their audience. These upcoming shows hold the potential to redefine the band’s dynamic with their fans and set the tone for their future endeavors.
