After almost 30 years together, Sum 41 are calling it quits. The closure of their storied journey was marked by their last performance at the 54th Annual JUNO Awards in Vancouver, Canada, where they were also honored by being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. As a heartfelt parting gift to their fans, Sum 41 released their final music video for the song “Radio Silence,” which is a track from their farewell album, Heaven :x: Hell. The song and its accompanying video encapsulate the band’s 30-year legacy, blending nostalgic concert footage with reflective behind-the-scenes moments.

The video for “Radio Silence” is particularly significant as it serves as a visual epilogue to the band’s career, showcasing the band’s evolution over the decades. The video is interwoven with clips from their past performances and candid moments of camaraderie. Deryck Whibley, the band’s frontman, is seen engaging with these memories, symbolizing the band's conclusion while celebrating their history.

Their final performance at the JUNO Awards was emblematic, with the inclusion of a medley of past hits such as “Over My Head (Better Off Dead),” “Still Waiting,” and “In Too Deep.” Before esteemed contemporaries Joel and Benji Madden from Good Charlotte, who inducted them into the Hall of Fame, Whibley took a moment to address the crowd and reflect on the band’s career. He acknowledged the struggles the band faced, noting these moments only amplified their accomplishments, and expressed gratitude to fans and family alike for their unwavering support through both high and lows.

Throughout their career, Sum 41 were recognized as paramount figures in the pop-punk genre, rising alongside notable acts like Green Day and Blink 182. The band played an instrumental role in defining and shaping the soundscape of early 2000s rock, leaving a palpable influence on bands and musicians that followed. The farewell video for “Radio Silence” is directed by Ravi Dhar, and its release feels like the proper bookend to Sum 41’s chapter in music history.
