Neil Young, the iconic folk rock legend, has been making waves with hints of an upcoming world tour in 2025, to coincide with his newly formed association with the band, The Chrome Hearts. This exciting update comes after Young was announced as a performer at Glastonbury 2025, which he initially declined to participate in due to what he referred to as a “corporate turn-off” with BBC's involvement. However, Young later reversed his decision, confirming his anticipation to headline the festival. This turn of events has bolstered speculation of a full-scale tour across Europe, North America, and the UK, an endeavor that Young describes as “The Summer of Democracy.”

Young has expressed eagerness to blend old and new songs on this tour, planning both timeless classics and recent pieces from his work with The Chrome Hearts. This band includes the talents of Micah Nelson, Willie Nelson's son, alongside bassist Corey McCormick and drummer Anthony Logerfo, formerly of Lukas Nelson's Promise of the Real. This new ensemble plans to debut songs from their forthcoming album, which Young stated would be released in April. “Playing with the Chrome Hearts was a joy,” Young wrote, highlighting the bliss he experienced while recording at Shangrila in Malibu.

The announcement of this anticipated tour has been circulated primarily through the Neil Young Archives, and fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of tour dates, which are expected to be revealed soon. Though full details remain under wraps, the tour's potential coverage of Europe, the USA, and Canada suggests a broad schedule that aims to reach the majority of Young's fan base. This sentiment aligns with what he has termed as the “Summer of Democracy,” which looks set to be a central theme of the tour. Young’s statement, “Music unites! We will be there with you!” encapsulates the inclusive, communal spirit he intends to bring on the road.
