Grizzly Bear, a staple of the indie-rock genre, is making a highly-anticipated return to the concert stage following a six-year break. The band has announced their first North American tour since 2019, causing excitement among fans longing for their signature sound. This upcoming series of performances is not being billed as a reunion; rather, it is a natural progression of their journey, marking both a conclusion and a new beginning for the group. Starting on October 13, 2025, the tour kicks off with a three-night stint at Brooklyn Steel in New York. The band will then travel across the country with performances in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and ultimately concluding in Oakland on November 19.

All four members of Grizzly Bear have kept busy over the past few years despite their dormant status. Ed Droste, one of the key figures in the band, shifted his focus to studying psychology and is now practicing as an associate therapist, although he has still dipped his toes back into music with collaborations featuring artists like Haerts and Morrissey. Meanwhile, Daniel Rossen released his debut solo album “You Belong There” in 2022, and collaborated with Chris Bear on the musical score for the Oscar-nominated film “Past Lives.” Chris Bear further extended his music endeavors by contributing to Fleet Foxes' album “Shore” and releasing work under his solo project, Fools. Chris Taylor has been producing records extensively over the past years, working with a diverse array of artists including Beth Orton and Aaron Parks.

A notable addition to the upcoming tour announcement is the vinyl reissues of Grizzly Bear's critically acclaimed albums. Fans can look forward to revisiting the magic of “Yellow House,” “Veckatimest,” “Shields,” and “Painted Ruins,” with these reissues scheduled for release on October 17. These albums hold a special place in the hearts of music lovers and this timely reissue serves as a fitting tribute to the band's influential legacy.

Tickets for the tour will be available for general sale starting May 30 at 10 a.m. local time, with presale opportunities preceding the public sale. The anticipation surrounding the ticket release highlights the band's enduring popularity and the eagerness of fans to experience their dynamic performances once more. Grizzly Bear's return to the stage is indicative of their lasting impact on the music scene and their ability to draw audiences with their unique sound.

As Grizzly Bear prepares to embark on this North American tour, they represent a group that has evolved while staying true to their artistic roots. Their hiatus has only served to build anticipation and excitement for their live performances, underscoring what has made Grizzly Bear such an enduring and beloved name in indie rock. For both longtime fans and newcomers, this tour marks an opportunity to witness the band's captivating energy and musical prowess in a live setting. With both the tour and vinyl releases on the horizon, 2025 is shaping up to be a milestone year for Grizzly Bear and their ardent followers.
