Muse, the renowned British rock band, embarked on their much-anticipated European tour, starting with an electrifying performance at the Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki, Finland. The show, held on June 12, 2025, marked the live debut of their latest single, “Unravelling.” This surprise premiere caught fans at the intimate venue off-guard, although the band had previously teased new music through social media. The band's frontman, Matt Bellamy, alongside bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard, delivered a thrilling set that reintroduced their distinctive sound to an eager audience. Accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Dan Lancaster, Muse stunned the crowd with the synth-heavy track “Unravelling,” which is set to officially release as a single on June 20.

The opening night at the Kulttuuritalo wasn't just about “Unravelling”; the setlist covered a wide array of tracks from Muse's expansive discography. Songs from their 2022 album “Will Of The People” featured prominently, alongside notable pieces from earlier works such as “United States of Eurasia” and classics like “Plug In Baby” and “Supermassive Black Hole.” These performances highlighted the band's ability to blend new work with fan favorites, maintaining an energetic and engaging presence throughout the show. With a capacity of 1,500, the venue offered an intimate experience that complemented the power of Muse's live performance. The inclusion of diverse elements from various albums through the years served to emphasize the band's journey and evolution in sound, which many fans have come to admire.

As Muse continues to tour through Europe, they are set to headline several major music festivals, including stops at Hellfest in France, Pinkpop in the Netherlands, and Spain’s Mad Cool Festival. This extensive tour extends into July, with notable performances scheduled in Poland at the Open'er Festival and in Portugal for NOS Alive. Their tour will further stretch into September in Jakarta, Indonesia, showcasing the global reach and enduring popularity of Muse.

The anticipation surrounding “Unravelling” was palpable among fans who had been following the band's hints on social media and through cryptic video clips. These teasers, underlined by the caption “Back at it,” effectively set the stage for the live debut of the track. Musically, “Unravelling” is infused with synth elements and reminiscences of Muse's past eras, incorporating space rock riffery akin to that found on “Origin Of Symmetry” and other albums like “Absolution” and “Drones.” This seamless blend of styles demonstrates Muse’s ability to evolve while staying true to the core elements of what longtime fans love about their music.

Looking ahead, there is much speculation about Muse’s future projects, particularly the possibility of a new album in 2026. Chris Wolstenholme hinted at this prospect, suggesting that work would begin in the coming months. This news is buoyed by the band's previous instrumental successes and their continuous evolution. While there is no confirmation yet regarding the specifics or official release dates, the hinted return to the studio and the potential for new material keep fans eager and engaged.
