Mick Jagger’s Fiancée Melanie Hamrick Shaken After Alleged Attack in London
Melanie Hamrick, fiancée of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, says she was physically attacked during a night out in London this week.
Hamrick shared on social media that she was grabbed from behind by two individuals near Annabel's, the private members’ club in Mayfair, on Tuesday evening. She described the incident as frightening and said she was left shaken and heartbroken by what happened.
According to her account, friends who were with her intervened and helped protect her during the confrontation. Hamrick later expressed gratitude to those who stepped in, calling their support a comfort in the aftermath.
British tabloid reports characterized the incident as a possible opportunistic mugging. As of Wednesday, there had been no confirmation of a formal police report. The Metropolitan Police Service said it was aware of the social media claims and encouraged anyone affected to contact authorities directly. The force reiterated its focus on tackling violent crime in central London, particularly offenses targeting women.
Representatives for Hamrick, Jagger, and Annabel’s have not publicly commented further.
Hamrick, a former principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, has been in a relationship with Jagger since 2014. The couple share a son and confirmed their engagement last year after more than a decade together. Jagger, 82, continues to tour and record with The Rolling Stones.
The incident has drawn concern from fans online, many of whom expressed support for Hamrick and relief that she was not seriously injured.
