Renowned musician and former Eagles guitarist Don Felder recently experienced a medical emergency while performing on the Rock Legends Cruise, an event featuring numerous iconic rock acts such as Alice Cooper and Styx. The incident took place when Felder, who co-wrote the Eagles' classic hit “Hotel California,” was introducing the 1973 song “Tequila Sunrise” on stage. As he began strumming, Felder appeared disoriented and stumbled, prompting stage crew and bandmates to escort him offstage, where he was quickly attended to by medical staff.

Felder suffered the medical emergency on the Rock Legends Cruise. His management later confirmed that the guitarist's condition was due to dehydration—a condition where the body loses more fluids than it takes in, often leading to dizziness, nausea, and in severe cases, disorientation, similar to what Felder experienced. After the incident, Felder was treated with fluids and advised to rest, which he promptly did, leading to a swift recovery.

In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram and other social media platforms, Felder expressed gratitude towards his fans for their concern and reassured them of his recovery. The post included, “After receiving medical attention, he was deemed to be suffering from dehydration. He was given fluids and is feeling much better,” emphasizing the need to stay hydrated. Felder's scheduled performances on the cruise were rearranged to allow him enough time to recuperate fully.

Felder has had a storied career, being the lead guitarist for the Eagles from 1974 until 2001. His work with the band includes defining contributions to some of their biggest albums, securing his place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Despite leaving the Eagles following a well-publicized legal battle, Felder continues to perform their hits, upholding his legacy in rock music. His contribution to the Eagles' sound, particularly with his iconic guitar riffs, has been celebrated and continues to capture the admiration of music fans worldwide.

Following the recent health scare, Don Felder shared a video update on his Facebook page, humorously mentioning his brief time in the “little medical facility” receiving an I.V. treatment. He confirmed he felt “fantastic” and was eager to return to performing, underscoring his relief and resilience following the episode. Finally, in a light-hearted reminder to his audience, Felder advised, “Thank you for your understanding and remember – drink your water!”
