Bob Dylan, the legendary singer and songwriter, is expanding his artistic repertoire with the release of a new book titled “Point Blank,” set to be published by Simon & Schuster on November 18, 2025. This collection offers a glimpse into Dylan's captivating artwork created between 2021 and 2022, featuring approximately 100 black-and-white drawings that capture a range of portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. The imagery is diverse, depicting everything from roller-skating lovers and a suspension bridge to a suit of armor and a roll of Scotch tape. These works are described as “deeply evocative,” capturing a profound mixture of innocence, world-weariness, joy, and melancholy.

Dylan, who has been a pivotal figure in the music industry since the 1960s, did not publicly share his artwork until 2007. Since he began showcasing his art, his work has been featured in galleries and museums worldwide. His previous book, “The Drawn Blank Series,” was published in 2008, marking the start of his public art journey. “Point Blank” not only extends this legacy with new depictions but also includes vignettes written by Eddie Gorodetsky, Jackie Hamilton, and Lucy Sante. Gorodetsky especially has a history of collaborating with Dylan, having worked with him on his radio show and his 2022 book “The Philosophy of Modern Song.”

In addition to the art book, Simon & Schuster plans to release an unabridged audiobook version of Dylan's memoir “Chronicles: Volume One,” narrated by the acclaimed actor Sean Penn. This edition marks the first time the memoir will be available in its entirety in audio format, providing fans with a complete auditory journey through Dylan's recollections and insights.

The announcement of these releases highlights Dylan's continuous evolution as an artist. The collection “Point Blank” exemplifies how Dylan has mastered the art of storytelling through his visual creations, much like he has done through his music. As Sean Manning, Simon & Schuster's Vice President and Publisher, noted, Dylan's art possesses the rare ability to uncover beauty and mystery in everyday moments, a gift he has consistently shared with the public.

The artistry present in “Point Blank” will be further celebrated at the Halcyon Gallery in London, where an exhibit of the same name is currently showcasing some of these drawings until July 6. This exhibition provides an opportunity for art enthusiasts and fans of Dylan to witness the synergy of visual and narrative art forms, as the displayed artworks are accompanied by the prose vignettes found in the book.

Dylan’s journey into the visual arts adds another dimension to his already illustrious career. His influence in the folk genre is renowned, and his transition to public art displays an embrace of new artistic expressions, showcasing his ability to find and communicate a nuanced range of human emotions and societal themes through different media.

“Point Blank” not only allows fans to explore another facet of Dylan's creative expression but also bridges his music and visual artistry. As literature and music enthusiasts anticipate these releases, the upcoming debut marks another significant milestone in Dylan’s extensive and diverse career. Fans and collectors alike eagerly await the opportunity to dive into the visual narratives he has crafted, assuring that Bob Dylan's artistic impact continues to resonate on multiple fronts.
