Slightly Stoopid, the renowned reggae/rock band hailing from San Diego, California, has thrilled fans by releasing a new single titled “Step Into The Sun.” This track serves as the first glimpse into their highly anticipated tenth studio album, set to be their first full-length project in eight years since their 2018 release, “Everyday Life, Everyday People.” The single not only showcases the band's unique blend of acoustic soul, rock, and reggae but also sets the foundation for their upcoming “Step Into The Sun” Summer Tour 2025.

Recorded at the iconic Sonic Ranch studios in El Paso, Texas, “Step Into The Sun” captures Slightly Stoopid's signature laid-back and infectious energy, which has garnered them a loyal fan base over three decades of music creation. With its breezy electric guitar riffs, layered acoustic chords, warm organ tones, and bursts of brass, the song delivers a message of hope and reflection as the band explores themes of life, love, and shared experiences. Vocalists Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald deliver reflective lyrics that pose questions like, “When's the sun gonna shine across your eyes again?” before uplifting listeners with an encouraging chorus: “All in all it’s the life that you’re given / All in all it’s the way that you live it.”

Slightly Stoopid, known for their powerful live performances and genre-spanning sound, is all set to take on a massive summer tour across North America. They are slated to headline stages alongside special guests Iration and Little Stranger, hitting major cities such as Austin, Boston, and Philadelphia and gracing iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, and Santa Barbara Bowl. In addition to these performances, the group is poised to make appearances at prominent festivals including Bonnaroo, Cali Vibes, Point Break, Reggae Rise Up, and Brighter Daze.

For fans eager to get into the summer spirit alongside Slightly Stoopid, the band has curated a special Spotify playlist titled “Step Into The Sun Summer Tour 2025” featuring a selection of sun-soaked tracks to enhance the season's vibe. The release of “Step Into The Sun” marks a momentous occasion for the band, returning after a significant hiatus to deliver new material that encapsulates their core themes of positivity, connection, and musical exploration.

Aside from the summer tour, Slightly Stoopid has announced the return of their Closer To The Sun destination concert experience, which will take place from January 10-14, 2026, in Riviera Maya, Mexico. This highly anticipated 11th edition will feature multiple performances by Slightly Stoopid and a host of guest appearances by acts such as Rebelution, Dirty Heads, Pepper, The Elovaters, and The Movement. Additionally, special performances by Damian and Stephen Marley promise to make this edition memorable, with collaborations and solo sets included in the unique beachside event.
