Nicko McBrain, the renowned drummer from Iron Maiden, is poised to hit the stage once more, albeit in a new capacity with his project, Titanium Tart. Set to perform in various locations throughout Florida in July 2025, McBrain brings with him a fresh ensemble of talented musicians. Rob Stokes will hold down the bass, with Eldad Kira on keyboards, Mike Rivera and Mitch Tanne on guitars, while Paolo Velazquez will lend his voice to the outfit. The shows are set to take place at Capt Hirams in Sebastian, Piper's Pub in Pompano Beach, The Barn in Sanford, and OCC Road House in Clearwater, marking a much-anticipated return to live performance for McBrain following his retirement from live touring with Iron Maiden.

McBrain's announcement comes after a significant period of reflection and personal adjustments following his retirement in December 2024. His decision to retire was deeply influenced by a stroke he suffered in January 2023, which resulted in partial paralysis. Despite the severe health setback, Nicko McBrain has shown resilience and determination to return to music. In previous interviews, he explained that leaving the rigorous tour life was something he had considered for some time, especially as he noticed his physical capabilities not aligning with the demands of Iron Maiden's extensive tour schedule. His last concert with Iron Maiden took place at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil, a poignant farewell to his on-stage collaborations with the band.

The drumming legend, known for his technical flair and versatility, leaves behind a 42-year career with Iron Maiden, during which he was integral in defining the band's sound. McBrain’s journey with the band started with the 1983 “Piece Of Mind” album and spanned decades filled with groundbreaking tours and legendary performances. As he transitions to working behind the scenes and on personal projects, he reassures fans that his connection with Iron Maiden remains steadfast. McBrain’s dedication to continuing his contribution to music at a different pace reflects his passion for the craft and his desire to stay creatively engaged.

After making his retirement official, McBrain expressed gratitude and respect for his fans and colleagues. His statement was both a farewell and a promise of continued involvement in other band-related initiatives. He conveyed a heartfelt goodbye to his touring days, acknowledged the challenges he faced with his health, and thanked his fans for their support over the years. His plans also involve potentially writing an autobiography, to give fans insights into his life and career decisions, further illustrating his ongoing commitment to connecting with audiences even in his retirement from Major tours.

Simultaneously, McBrain has remained hopeful and geared towards his passion for drumming. His project, Titanium Tart, provides him with the avenue to perform without the taxing demands of global tours. The inclusion of skilled musicians in his new lineup ensures that his performances will maintain the high standards fans expect. His presence assures fans that despite his retirement from the heavy metal giant’s live stage, his musical journey is far from over. Moreover, with Simon Dawson stepping in as Iron Maiden's new touring drummer, the band continues to move forward, maintaining its legacy and preparing for future ventures.

Nicko McBrain’s impact on music extends beyond his remarkable tenure with Iron Maiden; his adaptability after personal adversities showcases his resilience and remains an inspiration to musicians and fans alike. His continued engagement in music, both with Titanium Tart and possible literary endeavors, signifies his enduring legacy and passion for the art form. Fans of Iron Maiden and McBrain can follow his latest endeavors and relish in the unique performances with Titanium Tart. This willingness to explore new ventures promises to keep his creative spirit alive and keep fans at the edge of their seats waiting for what's next.
