Metallica has officially announced an eight-show Las Vegas residency at Sphere, titled Life Burns Faster, with performances scheduled for Oct. 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31, 2026.

In its announcement, the band said the run will continue its “No Repeat Weekend” format, with different setlists on each Thursday and Saturday pairing. Two-night and single-night tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday, March 6, at 10 a.m. PT, with fan club and artist presales beginning earlier that week.

Sphere’s official event page also lists the residency window as Oct. 1-31, 2026 and describes the eight-show run as part of Metallica’s no-repeat weekend approach.

The residency is positioned as a major production play for the band, combining Metallica’s catalog-spanning live show with Sphere’s wraparound LED environment, immersive sound system and multi-sensory effects. Trade outlet Variety reported that drummer Lars Ulrich called the project “uncharted territory” and framed it as another reinvention of the group’s live fan experience.

Metallica said the shows are produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind.
